The background sceneries give a "finished" aspect to your layout, they are useful in particular on narrow surfaces to fill empty sight which is not very realistic.
In this tutorial, we will explain you the manner of using the background sceneries

1- Place the backgrounds near the edges of boards. The background sceneries of France en Trains are curved, which enables you to fit the angles to avoid having francs edges which would be visually unpleasant. You can place them the ones at sides of the others, nevertheless it is necessary to avoid putting too much of it, because the effect of repetition is unaesthetic. It is advised to intercalate the sceneries with reliefs.
2- Create low reliefs near background so as to make "realistic" the landscape. For that use the tool "Raise" with a large ray and a low sensitivity. If you move up the background, readjust the height with the tool "Adjust height".
3- Apply texture and try to choose the colors closest to background which you had set up.

4- Add objects. Take care of sizes: smallest at the bottom, largest towards the center of interest (near the tracks).

5- Add some foliage and it's done !

The background sceneries and most of the assets showed in this tutorial are present in packs 1 and 2.
